  • PRESS RELEASE

With the onset of summer in the sultanate, Muscat Electronics LLC is committed to deliver comfort and relief by showcasing its advanced range of air conditioners at Interiors & Buildex 2006, which will be held on April 1-3 at the Oman International Exhibition Center.

"This forthcoming exhibition for the interiors and construction industry in Oman will enable us to highlight the excellent features of our hi-tech Daikin air conditioners and affordable Chigo air conditioners," said D.R. Bijlani, general manager of Muscat Electronics.

Varghese Samuel, senior manager of the company's Air-Conditioning Division, pointed out that Daikin Industries Ltd. of Japan is the pioneer in the air conditioning industry, being established more than 80 years back. The company has seven factories spread all over the globe, and it holds the No. 1 position in Japan and is the 2nd in the world in the field of air conditioning.

Varghese explained that Daikin is the inventor of the Variable Refrigerant Flow, an innovative system of air conditioning that is known under the patented name VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume). This state-of-the-art technology uses digitally-controlled variable frequency inverter compressors that pump an accurate amount of refrigerant to the indoor units according to demand, thus saving approximately 40% on electricity.

According to Varghese, Daikin VRV also uses the environment-friendly refrigerant gas R410A. He pointed out that all units are 100% made in Japan and are extremely rugged and reliable. During the year, Muscat Electronics has installed more than 150 VRV outdoor units, the highest in the Middle East. A live display of VRV technology will be showcased at the Daikin stall in Interiors & Buildex 2006.

He added that Muscat Electronics will also display the products of Chigo Air Conditioning Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of air conditioners in China with a production capacity of 6 million units. Chigo is currently regarded as an affordable option in homes and offices all over Oman especially the interiors. More than 15,000 Chigo split ACs are now in operation in the sultanate, said Varghese.

"Efficient after-sales support with 100% parts availability is our strength," Varghese stressed. "We are at the customer's premises within two hours of a call, and 24-hour service is also available on prior arrangement."

Interiors & Buildex 2006 is co-sponsored by V-KOOL Oman and supported by the Caledonian College of Engineering, the Oman Society of Engineers, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and Consorzio Nuovi Mercati of Italy. The Times of Oman and Al Shabiba are the official newspapers of the event.
