Approximately 150 VIPs, comprised of major international journalists, tour operators and Virgin Atlantic's top frequent flyers, boarded Bateaux Dubai for lunch to sample some of Executive Chef Tunji Oladipo's exquisite freshly prepared specialities.
After more than two years of cruising along Dubai Creek in the heart of the city, Bateaux Dubai is now an established must-do excursion for all visitors to Dubai. The elegant vessel cruises seven days a week and serves gourmet cuisine with emphasis on personalised service.
Sir Richard Branson, who has visited Dubai several times in recent years, has commented before on his amazement at the commitment to development in Dubai:
'Just like Virgin Atlantic, Dubai is committed to growth and we want to help it happen. The launch of our new route to Dubai could offer many opportunities for other Virgin companies and I'm hoping Virgin Atlantic's presence will be the platform for further expansion.'
David Thomson, General Manager Corporate Affairs of Jebel Ali International Hotels said. 'Not only was it a wonderful opportunity to meet Sir Richard Branson in person, but it was also a great honour to host him and his party on our beautiful Bateaux Dubai to celebrate this great milestone for Virgin Atlantic and Dubai.'
