The international exhibition, which will run until April 3, will showcase a wide range of building materials and construction supplies as well as home furnishings and products for interior design. The exhibition timings are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

"We are inviting everyone connected to the building and construction industry to visit the exhibition and check out the new products and materials required in their projects," said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition organiser in the sultanate.

Paul revealed that a large number of local companies and international exhibitors have eagerly signed up for Interiors & Buildex 2006. Among the local exhibitors are Muscat Electronics, Al Turki Enterprises, Abu Hani Establishment, Sadolin Paints (Oman) Ltd., Oman Marketing & Services Co., Abou Nabil LLC, Malatan Trading & Contracting, Excel Paints, Dosteen Trading, the Al Nasr Group of Companies, and North Ocean Trading and Contracting.

The international exhibitors, on the other hand, have come all the way from Austria, Brunei, Italy, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Turkey, Egypt, New Zealand, the UK, and the UAE. A good number of local companies will also be representing companies from the U.S., China, Mauritius, and Japan.

Paul stressed that the participation of many companies ensures that everything required for whatever type of construction activity will be on display. Among the products to be featured are air-conditioning systems, bathroom fittings, paint products, kitchen modules and equipment, security systems, cement products, construction tools, artificial grass, and a wide selection of building materials.

"Interiors & Buildex 2006 is a very timely event, considering that various large-scale development projects are currently being implemented in the sultanate and other multimillion projects are now on the drawing board," Paul concluded.

Interiors & Buildex 2006 is co-sponsored by V-Kool Oman and supported by the Caledonian College of Engineering, the Oman Society of Engineers, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and Consorzio Nuovi Mercati of Italy. The Times of Oman and Al Shabiba are the official newspapers of the event.
