Held at Dana Club poolside lounge. Mr. Sandeep Sehgal, General Manager Oryx Publishing, Ms. Alpana Roy, Head-Publishing & Marketing, Mr. Ravi Raman, Business manager Oryx Publishing and Mr. N. Ramdas, Head Consumer Banking Standard Chartered Bank gave away plaques to the winners.
These awards were a result of over 5 months of voting by the readers of the magazine, customers and food connoisseurs. The public voted using the voting forms carried within the magazine and kept at the participating restaurants, shopping malls and other popular joints.
This is the second edition of the Qatar Today Restaurant Awards, which have come to be acknowledged as the ultimate recognition for any restaurant. What makes them unique is that awards are given out based on customer votes and there is no jury involved. The categories have been expanded to 12 this year. The second edition also saw Standard Chartered Bank sponsoring the event along with other partners. Dana Club was the official host for the event.
Qatar Today is published by Oryx Publishing and Advertising Co, one of Qatar's largest and oldest media house. Apart from Qatar Today which clearly is the number one English magazine of Qatar, the group also publishes Qatar Al Yom-Qatar's only news, business Arabic monthly and Woman Today, the first working woman's magazine.
