  • PRESS RELEASE

The high-quality, high-speed, large-format digital lab system for silver halide paper, the Fujimoto SHP 5080 is being presented for the first time in the region at PhotoWorld Dubai 2006.

With a maximum print size of 20" x 40", the Japanese-made SHP 5080, provides digital enlargements at prices which are much cheaper than that of traditional inkjet technology.

Launched by Jacky's Gulf, the digital enlarger uses standard photographic chemistry, thus ensuring a low cost per print.

The Fujimoto SHP 5080 Digital lab system is among a range of innovative imaging systems that will be demonstrated by the Jacky's Digital Imaging Division (DID) at the company's stand (number C10 - hall 4) during the exhibition. Set up in 2004, the division represents reputed brand names in the imaging industry, some of whose products will be presented to prospective users during the three-day event, which starts on April 4, 2006 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Among those products that Jacky's will demonstrate at PhotoWorld is the Italian-made SMI MK4 minilab, the HP Designjet 9000 and HP Designjet 130, a printing system particularly noted for the fade resistant, quality it brings images. The six-colour HP Designjet 9000 is a 64-inch wide printer that marks HP's first entry into the low-solvent printer market. Capable of meeting a variety of signage requirements, such as signs or large banners, the HP Designjet 9000 is suitable for customers who would like to move into the outdoor printing business at an affordable cost.

One of the main advantages of the HP Designjet 9000, which was displayed for the first time in the region at Sign & Graphics Imaging 2006, is its high print speeds (of up to 20 m2/h) enabling faster turnaround on print jobs. As one of two HP partners authorized to sell the printers in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain, Jacky's provides complete service and colour management support for the HP Designjet 9000 series.

Jacky's DID is also the authorised distributor in the Gulf region and Pakistan for SMI's MarKo line, a new generation of digital minilabs from San Marco Imaging (SMI), Italy. The SMI MK4 digital minilab, which has been designed as a complete solution, comprises a film and paper processor, a high-resolution film scanner, a touch-screen LCD monitor, and a digital printer. A versatile digital system that accepts input from almost any digital source, the SMI MK4 is a cost-effective, flexible, revenue-generating digital minilab for retailers, studio and lab owners.
