The launch of this new machine shows Apple's contribution to the local market, which will amplify the overall sales of computers in the region.

Featuring the Intel Core Duo processor, the Mac mini is the latest machine from Apple being released in the Middle East providing performance up to four times faster than its predecessors.

'This new slim downed version of our desktop is just another illustration of Apple's continued and dramatic transformation for the new millennium.' said Elias Abou Rustom, General Manager of Arab Business Machine Limited.

'We are pleased that this example of cutting edge technology is now available to the Middle Eastern market as it shows Apple's commitment and consistency in servicing its customers needs, for any part of the world.'

The Mac mini comes with two primary specifications: one featuring a 1.5GHz Intel Core Solo chip and the other featuring a 1.67GHz Core Duo processor. The model also features an 80GB hard drive and an 8x SuperDrive that includes a DVD writer.

Both Mac mini models include built-in AirPort Extreme wireless connectivity, built-in Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, one FireWire 400 port and four USB 2.0 ports, while both audio and video connections consist of a DVI interface and a VGA-out adapter for connecting to a home stereo.

The new Mac mini also boasts 512MB of memory along with a new infrared port designed to work with the Apple Remote and supports an enhanced version of Front Row, the multimedia management application introduced in 2005. This new version of Front Row allows users to access shared iTunes and iPhoto libraries and video throughout their environment via Bonjour instant networking.

'The Mac mini happens to be the third consecutive device released from Apple that is powered by Intel technology, following the launch of the Intel based iMac and the MacBook Pro laptop. It goes without saying that we are confident that this new generation of computers will quickly find a home in the Middle East as a popular choice for users. These computers are bold, ground-breaking and priced within the means of the everyday person.' said Abou Rustom.
