- PRESS RELEASE
Bateaux Dubai, the dining cruise vessel operated by Jebel Ali International Hotels, has issued its support of the Dubai government and ports authority decision to investigate the safety standards of all vessels on Dubai Creek.
"We welcome and applaud this decision which shows the government and ports authority's dedication and commitment to enduring safety standards," said David Thomson, General Manager Corporate Affairs of Jebel Ali International Hotels. "It is this kind of proactive approach which ensures Dubai's reputation as a leading travel destination where visitors and residents alike can be assured that everything is being done to ensure their safety and enjoyment."
Bateaux Dubai is certified by Bureau Veritas, one of the leading classifications to ensure marine safety for passengers and crew. Certification comprises compliance with an international set of safety specifications which cover fire and safety on water, evacuation procedures and life jacket access amongst others.
Bateaux Dubai has been designed and built to meet and exceed the most stringent security and safety regulations enforced in Europe and the United States. Mainly built with steel and glass, the structural design of Bateaux Dubai accommodates six separate compartments which are individually 'sealed' in case of emergency and guarantees the flotation of the vessel in any circumstance.
Engines are accommodated in side hulls independent from the main hull and the kitchen is exclusively electricity powered with no gas or other open fire allowed onboard. Bateaux Dubai also manages additional self-implemented safety precautions such as swimming lessons, first aid and lifeguard training for the crew onboard.
