The official ceremony took place in the presence of Captain Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Gaoud, Bahrain's undersecretary for civil aviation affairs, Ministry of Transportation. "This move comes at a key point in our Middle East regional growth plan, an area where Sabre continues to be the leading GDS,"
said Daniel Naoumovitch, chief executive officer of Sabre Travel Network Middle East. "If our positive results from the first quarter of the year are anything to go by, Sabre's 2006 prospects in the region are extremely good."
Sabre announced recently that it has increased its sales and customer service workforce throughout the Middle East region, as part of the company's efforts to enhance its local resources and meet the specific demands of the region's travel suppliers and travel agencies.
Naoumovitch heads a team of 71 employees and oversees Sabre's operations in more than 1,000 travel agency locations in 11 countries in the Middle East.
