"We are very happy to announce this new development, which will be a positive incentive to our existing and potential customers. EMIX is proud of its position as the leading Internet Exchange in the entire Middle Eastern region in terms of both capacity and clientele. This is another step in our efforts to provide all our clients with the best services to drive their business forward."
The establishment of a new POP in London and the provisioning of new links have warranted a significant investment to ensure an unmatched quality of uninterrupted service and a world class Internet experience to EMIX customers in the UAE and beyond. EMIX also plans to establish additional POPs in Europe, Asia and USA soon, which will significantly boost the value and facilities enjoyed by its customers.
Currently, the EMIX network consists of four POPs (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, New York and London) and 41 STM-1. The backbone capacity has surged to over 6.3 Gbps including its peering arrangements, making it the highest backbone capacity in the region with any single provider and EMIX aims to reach 9 Gbps by the end of 2006.
