Delegates from Sharjah Transport visit RTA

The Chairman of Sharjah Transport, Ahmed M. Al-Shamsi and Director General of Sharjah Transport, Abdullah Mohammed Al-Zari recently visited the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai and met with H.E. Matter Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA.

Also present at the meeting were Dr.Aysha Al Busmait, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications department and Engineer Abdul Aziz Malik, Director of Public Transport department from the RTA.

With an aim to strengthen the collaboration and develop new services that optimize traffic flow between the two emirates, this meeting proved to be promising, as its objectives included the construction of new routes of transport, improving existing ones and also discussing RTA's projects like the Dubai Metro.

H.E. Matter Al Tayer said,

'We are committed to strengthen and build our relationships with transport authorities across the emirates. Our long term common visions will lead to the achievement of our objectives of making transport in our country safe and secure. We are glad that the team from Sharjah Transport visited us and we shared with them the upcoming important projects like the progress on the Dubai Metro which will smooth the traffic flow in the Emirate.'



Ahmed M. Al-Shamsi said, 'Working together with the RTA on a number of projects will widen opportunities for mass developments in the field of transport. Developments like the Dubai Metro and the expansion of roads will provide new channels of commuting for the residents of Sharjah. We are also improving the bus station at Al Quasis to help people commute to from Sharjah to Quasis, which will eventually help them take the Metro to Dubai. This will contribute in reducing the traffic congestion considerably.'
