The Bank's delegation toured the Centre and familiarized themselves with the Centre's objectives and activities. They were briefed about the teaching methods and talked to some of the Centre's children.
In a statement, BIsB CEO, Mr. Yousif Saleh Khalaf, said:
"We in Bahrain Islamic Bank consider such donations as a national, humanitarian and religious duty. Through such contribution we try to rehabilitate a dear member of our beloved community and to integrate him or her into the community once more."
He added: "Our selection of Alia Early Intervention Centre to provide such assistance is in appreciation of the humanitarian role played by the Centre on the one hand and in recognition of the importance of the need to overcome behaviour difficulties experienced by children with special needs and to show our appreciation to all volunteers who contribute to charity."
It should be noted that Alia Early Intervention Centre is an educational and training centre that provides its educational and rehabilitation services during the mornings and afternoons to children who have behavior and communication difficulties.
The Centre admits children in the 18 months to 3 years age group suffering from behavior and communication difficulties, autism or children with suspected delayed development or diagnosed to actually have delay in developing their mental or physical abilities.
Meanwhile, Sh. Mohd Bin Rashid Alkhalifa, the Society Treasurer expressed his gratitude and appreciation of Bahrain Islamic Bank for the humanitarian contribution for the Centre.
He said: In my own name and on behalf of all the Centre's staff and family of the needy child we wish to express our thanks and appreciation to Bahrain Islamic Bank represented by its Chairman Mr. Khalid Albassam and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Yousif Saleh Khalaf for this humanitarian gesture and this generous support."
He added: "Such assistance provided by the Bank to many charitable and humanitarian centres and societies in the Kingdom is an assertion of the pioneering cultural role played by the Bank by providing care to all sectors of the community."
In addition to offering educational facilities for children, Alia Early Intervention Centre offers training and rehabilitation services to the Centre's teachers to enable them to acquire the necessary expertise and knowledge for dealing with this group of Bahraini children. Moreover, the Centre also provides its services for the parents and professionals in the educational and health sectors concerned with childhood.
During the last five years only, Bahrain Islamic Bank has contributed more than BD one million in the form of donations, aid and contributions all of which have contributed to changing the lives of many individuals and organizations in this country.
