The other Renault models to be awarded the European NCAP's five-star safety rating are the Laguna II, Megane II, Vel Satis, Espace IV, Scenic II, Megane Coupe Cabriolet, and Modus. The NCAP rating provides motorists with an independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in the Continent.
Khaja said that six of the eight models are currently marketed in Saudi Arabia and the seventh, Clio III, will soon be introduced in the Kingdom. He added, "The safety is the key feature especially in our market in view of the highest accident rates in the region.
"The vehicles' safety coupled with new, wider cabins, distinguished accessories and other touches of luxury have all contributed to increased demand for the Renault in the Saudi market,"
he said.
Khaja explained how Renault has redefined the concept of safety by backing up their high quality vehicle with innovative safety programs.
"Renault has adopted a comprehensive new safety concept which includes body design, new safety features, high quality equipment, and backed all up with educational programs to elevate awareness levels of drivers," he said. "The concept will be based on providing protection, correction and educational measures to ensure the safety of both drivers and passengers."
