Participates in the Saudi Career Day: GOIC arranges for Gulf industrialists visit to Tunisia

Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) signed yesterday a joint memorandum of understanding with the Tunisian Industry Promotion Agency.
On his part, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Bin Abdulallh, said after signing the agreement that, 'the economic relationship between Gulf countries and Tunisia is a well-established one, yet it is centered around the sectors of tourism, agriculture and banking, and Tunisia undertakes to activate this relation at other levels specially the industrial field.'
"The existence of Gulf investors in Tunisia since the 1970s helps their engagement in the industrial sector in Tunisia; furthermore, the agreements between Tunisia and the European countries will also reinforce the success of the industrial investment in Tunisia; specially after the dismantling of customs barriers with the European union at the beginning of 2008; this will transfer Tunisia to a wide gate for exporting to the European market." Mr. Abdullah added.
Within the same context, Mr. Abdullah talked about the development which Tunisia witnessed as the far the industrial field is concerned as the contribution of this sector in the Gross Domestic Product has risen to 22% at present; a percentage compared to only 6% in the 1970s. In addition, there is a share of 25% of the total labor force working in the industrial sector in Tunisia; and an agreement like that signed with GOIC has to do with pushing industry's development ahead.
On his part, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Hassan Dhaif expressed his optimism as far as the results of this agreement are concerned and reported that GOIC is so much concerned with its relationships with agencies and organizations specialized in industry, and amongst those comes the Tunisian Industry Promotion Agency, which has good experience in managing and developing industries. The agreement aims at exchanging information and experiences in the consultancy field; further to the coordination and reinforcement of cooperation in all fields relating to the work of both parties.
On their part, the terms of the agreement are centered around exchanging information and experts; cooperation in the fields of studies and field surveys; as well as executing the special programs of training, organizing symposiums and conferences further to researches' publication.
Moreover, Mr. Dhaif reported that the first activities resulting from this agreement is arranging a visit for industrialist businessmen from GCC member states to Tunisia so as to closely inspect the expected investment opportunities. It is also expected to conduct introductory symposiums in GCC member states on the industrial investment in Tunisia.
It is worth mentioning that the imports Tunisia from GCC member states reached some US D 166,3 million in 2004, while the exports of Tunisia to GCC member states registered some US D 40,72 million; thus the trading value between the two parties is US D 207 million. The Tunisian government on its turn exerts great efforts in attracting investment within its 10th development schema so as to transfer Tunisia to a regional financial center; especially the Tunisian president approved the float of currency starting 2009.
GOIC is participating in the 23rd Annual Career Day organized by King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals between April 9 -12, 2006 in Emir Naief Hall for Sciences and Culture in KFUPM in Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This program aims at providing university students with the qualifications required for the labor market and looks for investigating and studying the labor market views periodically with regards to distinctiveness qualifications and efficient performance requirements.
It also targets creating employment and training opportunities for university students; creating room for business parties to introduce their activities and interview graduates; identifying the fields of specialization at university; creating the awareness of students with regards to labor market; establishing a cooperative partnership based on strengthening the relation between university and labor market; acquainting students with the efficient ways of searching for a job, preparing a resume and making personal interviews.
In its own suite, it is decided that GOIC will present job chances in its headquarters in Doha for distinctive graduates in the fields of Petrochemicals Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics and Economy as well as Marketing Business Administration.
This effort comes within the framework of GOIC prudence to supply its technical cadre with efficient staff in the different fields of specialization, assuring, this way, its pioneering role since more than a quarter of a century in the field of industrial development in GCC member states.
