- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 11 - 2006 at 12:08
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has announced the launch of "Kafa'at", a special training programme in investment and brokerage for UAE nationals.
"Kafa'at" will feature several courses during which participants will receive academic and practical training from the DFM and financial institutions in the UAE to receive recognised international certificates. The programme will also allow participants to visit global financial markets, and receive recognized international certificates. In addition, these courses will help UAE Nationals acquire a brokerage license in the UAE's financial markets.
Essa Kazim, Director General Dubai Financial Market, said: "DFM's strategic vision aims at enhancing the national economy and maintaining the stability of financial markets through providing opportunities to UAE Nationals, consolidating their presence in the brokerage industry, and educating them in the administration of brokerage companies. DFM is also encouraging existing companies to increase Emiratisation levels and hire qualified nationals."
"In line with this strategic vision, DFM has decided to initiate a training programme aimed at qualifying UAE National cadres to play a major role in the brokerage and financial industries. The programme features a series of theoretical and practical courses that will run for four months. The market is expected to organise two rounds of the programme each year and 25 UAE Nationals will take part in each round," he said.
The training programme includes four phases; academic training, acquiring a brokerage license, domestic practical training, and foreign practical training.
In line with DFM's efforts to encourage UAE Nationals, the market has decided to pay market-rate salaries to UAE Nationals participating in "Kafa'at".
Participants should be UAE Nationals that have recently graduated from University or college (three years). They should also have a degree in any business major to be permitted to take part in the programme.
