- PRESS RELEASE
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has signed a strategic partnership with Oxford Business Group (OBG).
"This is an extremely timely initiative as we look to develop our economic atmosphere and encourage new investment," said His Highness Sheikh Saud.
"We will be launching several landmark projects particularly in the tourism, education and healthcare sectors. Our development strategy will be outlined in more detail in the new authoritative publication."
'Emerging Northern Emirates 2006' will have detailed overviews and analysis of Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. It will also include each emirate's political and macroeconomic environment, as well as trends in all the major economic sectors, including banking, capital markets, insurance, I.T. and telecom, real estate and construction, tourism, energy and media.
A team of six OBG analysts will spend the next three months working with the Ras Al Khaimah government to research and write on all aspects of the emirate's economy.
"We expect to conduct some 100 interviews with leading political and economic figures of the Northern Emirates over the course of the research," said Sonja Gehlsen, Country Director, Oxford Business Group.
"Ras al Khaimah has made major upgrades to its airport and road networks which have opened up access to the emirate, and with a string of new hotel developments, its tourism industry could become one of the UAE's strongest. We will critically assess events and trends in all its largest sectors."
Emerging Northern Emirates 2006 will be launched in August.
