"This will be the biggest ever Arabian Travel Market promotion when visitors will get a full run down in hourly shows on the finite proposition and branding of this ground-breaking project," explained HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and Chairman of the Emirates Group.
"Our aim is to fully explain our pioneering concept and proposition to audiences including the many airlines and destination developers who will be present at the show, as well as the expansive local, regional and international media corps that the show attracts."
The project had a soft launch at last year's Dubai 2005 international aerospace exhibition and created a huge stir on the international aviation scene.
"Since last November work has progressed considerably on the final masterplanning and branding of this unique business offering, which comprises a number of specialised projects under a single theme. Refinements have been made following detailed discussion with, and feedback from, the many stakeholder sectors which we anticipate will partner us going forward," explained Sheikh Ahmed.
The project covers a vast, 140 square kilometre development which will encompass an international airport - JXB - with the current combined capacity of London's Heathrow and Chicago's O'Hare.
With the capacity for six parallel runways and as many concourses capable of handling more than 120 million passengers and more than 12 tonnes of cargo a year, JXB is a visionary project designed to serve the emirate's passenger and cargo air transportation needs until 2050 and beyond.
The multi-phase project will span a number of sector specific business offerings covering aviation, logistics, commercial, residential and recreation.
