"We have been working with FAMCO for many years now and often rely on them for feedback on the new additions to their range of vehicles," said Shawqi Ali Lootah, General Manager, National Transport. "In the past, we have effectively used Volvo FH Trucks for transport of rocks and aggregate and the vehicle has been highly reliable, a key requirement in our business, and now with the improved engine, our confidence in the vehicle is only boosted. With the addition of 25 new trucks to our fleet coupled with the great service provided by FAMCO, we look forward to further strengthening our position in the transport industry".
Exclusively distributed by FAMCO, the Volvo FH Trucks now have a new, more powerful engine- the D13. The D13 engine replaces the D12 which has been the standard engine fitted in Volvo trucks since the mid nineties. With its increased capacity of 12.8 litres, the enhanced engine produces greater horsepower of 440Hp plus increased torque output allowing better hill-climbing ability.
"Volvo Trucks have acquired a reputation for being stable and reliable, and the FH Trucks in particular have always been in high demand amongst transport companies," said Martin Bleasdale, Divisional Manager, Truck and Bus Division, FAMCO.
"Since the announcement of the availability of Volvo FH with an improved engine, we've received great response and National Transport was the first to kick-off our sales".
Bleasdale concluded, "The changes that have been introduced in the new truck, providing more power and more torque, has surely drawn the attention of many transport companies. Our sales have not only substantially increased but our order book is full right until June this year."
