i-mate™ breaks into software development for the enterprise

The software enables enterprises to equip their staff with familiar Windows Mobile® devices to safely extend their corporate networks beyond the office. Comprising three modules - i-mate™ Control, 1-View for the enterprise and Backup - the software offers true mobile functionality without losing control of either security or compromising data.

i-mate™ 1-View safely extends access to corporate networks and files to Windows Mobile™ devices, expands mobile device storage, and provides document, data, and file sharing. i-mate™ Control allows enterprises to safeguard sensitive data, remotely configure or troubleshoot devices, automatically update all devices in the field simultaneously and remotely customize devices, while i-mate™ Backup provides full remote wireless data backup, the capability to define backup policies and schedules, and restore Windows Mobile® devices.

A recent report published by analyst house Nomura says that i-mate's™ "strategy is spot-on for delivering what corporations require from mobility." The report continues: "To date only i-mate™ with Microsoft has decided to enter the market for offering enterprise grade mobile solutions, and as a result we expect that in 2006, the bulk of Microsoft® mobile-enabled devices will be shipped by i-mate™."
