Laurence Black joins Standard Bank Plc Dubai branch

Laurence joined Standard Bank in April 2006 as Director - Head of Private Client Offshore Services, and has over 20 years experience in the offshore finance industry.

Previously he worked within the Royal Bank of Canada Financial Group both in the Channel Islands and the Middle East. Prior to this he worked in Guernsey with Schroders Financial Management. Having started his career in Fund Administration and Accounting Laurence has held a number of positions in Business Development, Compliance and Marketing.

More recently Laurence was the Regional Director for RBC Global Private Banking in Dubai, responsible for high net worth private client business development in the areas of international investment management and multi-jurisdictional estate planning. In this role he has successfully serviced private clients in the Middle East with international needs and works closely with cross border specialists in the establishment of international trusts and a variety of investment structures. Laurence maintains a comprehensive knowledge of legislative changes and industry trends affecting cross-border issues. Laurence is a member of STEP Worldwide (Society of Trust and Estate Planners) and is the current Chairman of STEP Arabia.
