  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 19 - 2006 at 14:29
  • PRESS RELEASE

Al Ansari Exchange, one of the leading foreign exchange companies in the UAE, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) today for employing 100 UAE Nationals registered with the Authority.

The signing ceremony coincides with the three-day Careers UAE 2006 exhibition, which begins on April 23, 2006. The fair aims at unifying efforts to generate employment opportunities for UAE Nationals.

According to the MoU signed between Noora Al Bedur, Acting Director General, Tanmia and Issa Al Ansari, Vice-Chairman of Al Ansari Exchange, Tanmia will liaise with Al Ansari Exchange to identify job requirements, match available jobs with existing vacancies, nominate suitable candidates and develop training programmes for talented and competent UAE Nationals thus boosting the company's Emiratisation efforts.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Noora Al Bedur from Tanmia said:

"Increasing employment opportunities for UAE Nationals is a major strategic step towards the economic and social development of the country. With increased importance being paid to Emiratisation across all sectors of commerce and industry, we take pride in the fact that we have been assigned this imperative responsibility."

"We have enhanced our efforts in bridging the gap between employer requirements and expectations and improving employment opportunities for National jobseekers registered in our database. We not only seek to give jobs to UAE Nationals, but also work to provide right opportunities to the right people through intensive training and by monitoring their performance at the workplace. This initiative is in line with Al Ansari Exchange's strategic plans and we are glad the company is genuinely committed to investing in the development of National human resources," Al Bedur added.

Following the MoU, Al Ansari Exchange will provide Tanmia with detailed requirements specific to job openings, cooperate with them to identify and invest in appropriate training programmes, select candidates referred by Tanmia for participating in training courses and will provide post-employment feedback to the Authority.

Issa Al Ansari from Al Ansari Exchange said: "Emiratisation is one of the strategic objectives of Al Ansari Exchange. We are glad to be working together with Tanmia for the common goal of reducing the unemployment ratio among UAE Nationals and enhancing their conversational and professional skills."

"We are also keen to assess the level of expertise available among the National manpower and improve this through necessary training programmes that will enable UAE youth to take up positions of responsibility in the country's flourishing economy. Our joint efforts with Tanmia will go a long way in helping us achieve our target for employing more UAE Nationals in our organisation," he added.

Established in 1966, Al Ansari Exchange has 50 branches across the country and will be a participant at Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition. The company lists Emiratisation as a top priority and uses every means possible to employ UAE Nationals in its branch exchanges towards achieving the 15 per cent target. Al Ansari Exchange has worked to raise skills and competencies of UAE Nationals by training the country's youth to fill vacancies arising out of the market demand for professionals conversant with local, regional and international banking and financial practices.
