BankMuscat, Q1 $35m profit

BankMuscat, Oman's largest bank, has posted a $35m Q1 profit, up 28% on the same period last year. Operating expenses increased by 22% in Q1 2006 as compared to the first quarter of 2005 mainly due to increase in manpower costs. Loans and advances grew by 22% to $3.8bn. Customer deposits increased by 25% to $3.7bn.
