Tanmia has partnered in organising the career fair for the fourth consecutive year. It will guide candidates registered with its database, to companies where jobs are available. Careers UAE 2006 primarily aims at encouraging partnership between industry and education in a bid to achieve employment targets set under the Emiratisation programme.
Essa Al Zaabi, Tanmia Office Manager, Dubai said:
"The feedback we have received from employers over the past year has been most encouraging. Many private and semi-government companies now seek to recruit UAE Nationals as their first choice of employee. Tanmia has signed a slew of agreements recently with organisations under which training and employment is being provided to more than 1300 Nationals,"
Al Zaabi added.
"Private and semi-government companies have also approached Tanmia for training and recruiting another 590 Nationals from our employee database. Careers UAE provides Tanmia an ideal platform through which to effectively encourage interaction between employers, jobseekers and students. It will allow us to promote our job-training and career-enhancing programmes among employers and National jobseekers. We will also introduce registered candidates to the 125-odd employers who will be participating in the fair," he said.
Besides offering expert advice on the latest Emiratisation issues, Tanmia will also host a series of workshops, debates and contests at Careers UAE 2006 by involving various educational institutions, public and private sector organisations and companies. These will focus on career guidance and development, job opportunities in emerging sectors, recruitment, new skills, employer expectations, labour legislation and job market realities, thus helping UAE Nationals gain the right perspectives and understanding of issues pertaining to employment.
