ALHOSN University launches its MBA program with leading companies

ALHOSN University announced the accreditation and launch of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program which will start admitting students May 2006 for commencement of classes June 2006.

"This promotes the vision of H. H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and Lt. General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and the current developments which the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is pursuing the human resources sector and privatization of the public sector."
stated H. E. Musallam Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ALHOSN University.

"This program is distinguished in terms of the academic cooperation with leading international companies covering a variety of industries' sectors. The academic cooperation enables the interaction between our students and the executives from these leading companies." he added.

Professor Ziad Saghir, Acting President & Vice President for Academic Affairs said, "our MBA program includes six concentrations; International Business, Management Information Systems, General Management, Accounting, Finance, and Banking. The program comprises 36 credit hours totaling 12 courses. In addition, there are complementary foundation courses for non business majors."

"Furthermore, we have contacted various leading companies such as Cansult and Nakheel to establish academic-industrial cooperation which will allow their executives and CEOs to lecture on specific business topics covering different fields of business and focusing on international business operations," he added.

"The program is geared towards business as well as non-business majors from both industrial and engineering backgrounds. The different concentrations allow students to choose the most suitable area of specialization which will help to promote them in their careers and produce innovative business leaders." said Professor Ahmad Zohdi, Acting Dean, Faculty of Business.

Professor Saghir appreciated the positive response from the leading companies on the academic-industrial cooperation. He also declared that the decision makers of these companies will not only upgrade the students with theoretical concepts but will also enlighten them on the latest techniques and approaches used by today's innovative global business leaders.

"Our MBA program will remain open to other leading companies to contribute with their latest business approaches and concepts and add extra value to it." Professor Saghir added.

He also declared that ALHOSN University is forming an advisory board which will consist of the cooperating companies. This advisory board will aim at outlining future plans and develop practical strategies to produce business leaders with theoretical and practical experience in different aspects of international business.

Moreover, he thanked H. E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the Ministry's determination to improve education in the U.A.E. and maintain high standards in its program accreditation process.
