- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, April 22 - 2006 at 14:18
- PRESS RELEASE
Executives from the British University in Dubai (BUiD) will promote a new range of scholarships and an expanded range of continuing professional development programmes at the forthcoming Careers UAE 2006, the country's largest and most comprehensive recruitment, education and training fair.
Among the scholarships currently available are a number of BUiD scholarships which pay for 50 percent of tuition fees for applicants with confirmed offers. Scholarships for 75 percent of tuition fees are also being offered for successful applicants from Zayed University, the Higher Colleges of Technology and the UAE University.
"Since its launch in 2004, the British University in Dubai has been fortunate in attracting a strong pool of talented national students to our courses and they have made an invaluable contribution to the original research being conducted here," said David Lock, BUiD's registrar and acting chief executive.
"The experience of BUiD students - both full-time and part-time - demonstrates the positive contributions that graduate education can make to people's career paths. We have already seen a number of students being actively recruited by leading local and international organisations, because of the experience and insight they have developed through their time at BUiD," he added.
In addition to the scholarship programme, institutes like BUiD's Institute of Education have tailored professional development programmes to suit the UAE education system and align with the government's plans of achieving ninety percent Emiratization of teaching staff by the year 2020.
Representatives from The British University in Dubai will be available on stand T-9 to meet with interested potential students.
BUiD degree programmes are based on similar international quality programmes that are offered in its UK partner universities, which include the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester, the University of Birmingham, and the Cardiff University and the Cass Business School of City University, London.
The University was established to facilitate access to world class education, training and research in the Middle East. It offers cutting-edge education and research in key disciplines, including IT, engineering, banking and finance, the Built Environment and education.
Career UAE 2006 runs from 23-25 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
