Largest ever Careers UAE set to open doors

The largest ever Careers UAE, the sixth edition of the country's premier recruitment, training and education exhibition, is set to open doors at 11 am today, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Careers UAE 2006, which will occupy Halls 5, 6 and 7, has registered impressive growth with a 32 per cent increase in nett space over last year. This year the exhibition will occupy 4,909 sq m as compared to 3,704 last year.

With the exhibition gaining in recognition as the premier event of its kind, it has attracted a large number of exhibitors from across the spectrum of business sectors. This year exhibitor numbers have grown by 20 per cent, up from 125 last year to 150 this year.

Over 50 companies are taking part for the first time indicating Careers UAE's growing stature as the ideal platform to source new talent and identify future leaders. More than half of the exhibitors represented are drawn from the private sector as companies from across the spectrum of trade and industry, have made increased Emiratisation a priority goal.

Over 15,000 visitors are expected over the three days of the exhibiton, which has convenient opening hours including special times for ladies only.

Financial services form the largest zone in Careers UAE 2006, with 23 represented at the exhibition, including HSBC, Standard Chartered, National Bank of Dubai and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank to name a few.

The commerce and trade zone is the next biggest with 20 exhibitors, 14 of which are taking part for the first time. Leading participants from the trade sector include Majid Al Futtaim Group, Al Tayer, Al Naboodah, Gargash Enterprises and Al Shaya Group.

Organiser Dubai World Trade Centre has widened the reach and effectiveness of Careers UAE by working closely with partners TANMIA, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology and UAE University, in a concerted marketing and publicity campaign.

The exhibition will also feature a series of seminars and workshops designed to facilitate increased employee-employer networking, turning the spotlight on topical issues and hurdles facing UAE nationals in the employment market.
