RAK FTZ attends strategic marketing course

A three-day marketing course was organized by the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority for its entire staff at RAK Hilton from April 13-15, 2006.

The training concluded on a very positive note as it focused on being hands-on and result-oriented.

The training was carried out by Mr. Wim Pijpers, Partner Marketing Strategies and Mr. Hans Vermij, Senior Consultant, of Buck Consultants from Netherlands. Both trainers have an impressive 20 years of experience in development of marketing strategies for economic development agencies and site selection advice for many international companies.

The well-planned advanced course gave the RAKFTZ employees the chance to enhance their own marketing abilities to face the upcoming market challenges. The employees were introduced to new strategies adopted to attract more investments to the emirate. The employees were also trained on new themes of after sale services. This training course is expected to have on-the-spot positive results on the zone's performance in line with the number of new companies to be attracted and registered at the zone.

HH Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Chiarman of the RAKFTZ, made it a point to personally meet the trainers and he asserted that he wants "to provide the zone's clients with model services to attract even more investments from around the globe to register with the zone."

Mr. Oussama El Omari, Director General/ CEO, RAKFTZ, declared:

"Organizing this training course highlighted the zone's interest in investment in human resources to improve the zone's performance as a whole. The course was just an episode in the chain of other steps the Free Zone will carry out to provide the clients with the world's most advanced facilities and services." He stressed that the clients registered at the RAK Free Trade Zone will be offered unprecedented industrial, commercial services and facilities after the needs of those companies had been carefully considered."


"The RAKFTZ employees gained advanced abilities to function under different work environments and were fully armed with the modern market skills to cope with the market future challenges," he added. Mr. Oussama El Omari stressed that the Free Zone's employees are currently entitled to achieve the best possible results and they are truly in a position to gain the trust of potential clients. "The professional level of the zone's employees will certainly impress more clients to register and start their bases at the RAKFTZ," he said.

Mr. Wim Pijpers stated: "The RAK FTZ staff is keen to learn more and more and are very interactive. I'm sure we've been able to achieve our aim of providing a training that will improve the marketing and promotion skills of the Marketing & Sales Team" The training sessions were part of the planning of the future direction for which the Free Zone intends to focus on to obtain sustainable growth.
