TRA draws job-seeking Nationals to fast-growing telecommunications industry through Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the UAE increased its efforts for achieving Emiratisation targets by highlighting the benefits it offers to employees, at the sixth annual Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition that was held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from April 23 to 25.

The Authority has participated in the Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition for the first time and has extended its support to the event, the country's premier forum for building partnerships between industry and education towards enhancing training and recruitment of UAE Nationals.

Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA said,

'We are proud to have a large number of UAE Nationals employed at TRA, who now make up 65 per cent of our workforce. The Authority provides employees a creative, secure and supportive environment, where equal opportunities are given to National men and women to fulfil their career ambitions.'

'Employees are our priority and we welcome their suggestions for the development of their skills and growth of TRA in the UAE. We also help them face the challenges of today's competitive job market through adequate on-the-job training,' Al Ghanim added.

The fair, which drew enthusiastic response from more than 125 public organisations and private sector companies, was organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, and the Chairman of Dubai World Trade Center.

About the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority:
The Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) was set up by government decree No. 3 of 2003. The TRA is a regulatory body that oversees the telecom sector and the licensees in the UAE in accordance with the terms of Legislative Decree no.3 of 2003, and implements the instructions of the Supreme Committee for Telecommunications.
