MOTO4YOU Amman highlights latest innovative technologies to connect users in emerging markets

Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today hosted senior MTC Group executives from across the Middle East and Africa to highlight the network and mobile handset technologies that will enable the operator to play a leadership role in connecting the next billion telecoms subscribers primarily to be found in emerging markets.

"MOTO4YOU is providing MTC Group with an invaluable perspective on the next wave of technology that will help us grow markets and continue achieving high levels of subscriber satisfaction. Motorola is one of our key vendors and we trust them to support our strategy to become a leading global player in the mobile sector by 2011," said Khaled Al Hajery, CTO MTC.

At the event, Motorola showcased Motorola Reach, its family of GSM network solutions aimed at enabling telecoms operators to connect the next billion mobile subscribers by the beginning of the next decade, with the range of sub-$30 handsets selected by the GSM Association as part of its initiative to 'connect the unconnected'. Motorola Reach offers MTC Group, and other operators focused on emerging markets, a comprehensive solution to bring telephony services to the next billion GSM users.

"We understand that MTC has some very specific business objectives as it expands rapidly across the Middle East and African region - to quickly launch services that consumers want, increase revenues, provide telephony in remote areas, and have access to a comprehensive set of mobile handsets for all price points within their markets," said Ali Amer, senior sales director, Motorola Networks MENAPAK.

"By hosting MOTO4YOU in Jordan, we are showcasing how MTC Group can maintain its competitive market position and deliver faster, more reliable and affordable services across its growing region of coverage,"

he added.

Celebrating the twelfth anniversary of its relationship with the MTC Group, Motorola's MOTO4YOU event included live demonstrations of other access technologies, including 3G, as well as Motorola's MOTOwi4™ portfolio, which enables fixed and mobile wireless broadband that MTC Group can use to increase the range of wireless services that it currently offers subscribers in its 19 markets. MTC Group executives also got a first-hand look at Motorola's comprehensive range of mobile devices - from the latest fashionably thin handsets to its low-tier phones for emerging geographies.

MOTO4YOU in Amman will also showcase Motorola's visionary new applications, such as M-Wallet, which provides consumers with quick access to the financial world virtually anywhere, anytime, in a secure and convenient way—eliminating the need to carry a credit or debit card in your wallet. Motorola also previewed the company's forthcoming range of candy-colored new PEBL handsets and its thinnest-ever candy bar handset - the SLVR, modeled after the regional and global success of the RAZR V3, with its laser-etched keypad. For Jordan's business community, the company will launch the new Motorola A1200 productivity-boosting handset later this year.

Motorola and MTC: 12 years Strategic Alliance
In addition to a series of technology demonstrations and insight into Motorola's solutions roadmap for the Middle East and Africa, MOTO4YOU in Jordan enabled Motorola and MTC Group executives to chart the next phases of the strategic alliance between the two organizations. Key milestones to date include:

• Jordan -- an MTC Group company (Fastlink) has deployed Motorola's GPRS, EDGE and PoC solutions. Fastlink reached 2million subscribers in 2005, and spent $80 million in investment in that year alone - upgrading and updating the network.

• Iraq -- an MTC Group company (Atheer) has deployed Motorola's 2G/2.5G - GSM 900 Network beginning in the South Region in December 2003, and then in the Central Region in March 2005. Atheer's network has exceeded 1million subscribers in Q1 2006 and is expected to increase significantly during the 1H of 2006.

• Kuwait -- MTC has deployed Motorola's GPRS and EDGE solutions and is poised to launch its 3G services this year.
