DED to recognize outlets for excellent service performance

In its continuing effort to create better awareness of service excellence in the retail sector and recognize outlets contributing to the excellent service performance, the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES) Secretariat at the Department of Economic Development (DED) announced that it will be holding a 'Service Excellence Conference'.

The conference will be held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce main Auditorium on May 1st, 2006.

The DED will recognize and honor those members of the DSES that have achieved levels of exceptional service performance at the conference. The names of the high performing outlets, quality malls, brands and concept stores will be decided on the basis of the Mystery shopper results.

The conference, which targets current and potential members of the DED's Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES), is being held with the objective to highlight the significance of quality service in retailing and encourage such initiatives across Dubai's retail sector.

Dr. Lway Nackasha, Adviser for Quality and Business Excellence at the DED said:

"Dubai's position as the centre of trade and retail in the region calls for initiatives that will bring about a continuous and synergistic improvement in service levels to maintain our competitive edge. The 'Share Service Excellence' conference is an excellent platform for retail and service sector members to work together and share best practices, thereby enabling them to continuously meet and exceed customer satisfaction,"


he added.

Key speakers at the conference will include Philip Forrest, Chairman Of The Osprey Partnership and Chairman of Judges Of The National Business Awards, UK, will speak on 'Who Owns The Customer.........and Who Cares?' and Stephen Parry, Managing Director of Transform 4 Ltd will speak on 'The Service Climate and Customer Intelligence'.

The conference is open free of charge to all members of the DSES. However, representatives of the retail sector who are currently non-members can call the DSES office at the DED to register for the event.
