The flagship model VDR-D300 is the first DVD video camera in the world to be equipped with both 3CCD and Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S) technology, while its sister model, the VDR-D250, is also equipped with the 3CCD system. The VRD-D150 comes proudly equipped with the remarkable 30x optical zoom.

Panasonic's O.I.S. assures clear pictures by compensating for hand movement while shooting via gyro sensors that detect the amount and direction of movement and compensate accordingly. Panasonic's 3CCD reduces noise while increasing horizontal colour resolution and luminous gradation to render sharper, more detailed images.

'The popularity of the DVD video camera has increased greatly in demand in recent times because of the ease and simplicity in use that users can playback recorded pictures with their DVD players and recorders immediately after shooting.'

said Koji Naka, Product Manager, Panasonic Marketing Middle East.

Panasonic's VDR-D150 model offers a powerful lens that allows for optical zoom magnification of up to 30x. Not only does the lens offer the most powerful zooming capability offered in a home-use digital video camera, it also features low distortion. Optical zoom, as opposed to digital, does not adversely affect image quality.

In keeping with Panasonic's 'Ideas for Life' work ethos, its new line up of cameras host a number of features aimed at making operation hassle-free. For instance, all cameras are equipped with a joystick control for easy access and menu navigation, and the D300 and D250 also come equipped with easy off functionality that helps preserve battery life by switching the camera off when not in use and automatically switching it back on when pre-shooting activities, such as unfolding the LCD viewfinder, are performed.

'Our aim is to provide cutting-edge technological products that intuitively fit into consumer lifestyles and can be used to great result with the minimum of hassle. It is not the consumer that should have to adapt to new technology, but the technology that should complement contemporary lifestyles. Keeping this in mind, we have hosted an array of advanced features that enhance our line-up's user-friendliness,' Naka added.

In order to ensure easy transfer of videos, Panasonic's cameras are compatible with a wide variety of formats and multi-format recording (DVD-RAM/-RW/-R) is possible. DVD-RAM offers unsurpassed durability and re-writing while compatibility with other media increases interchangeability with existing AV equipment, allowing for seamless transfer, editing and storage.

'We have sought to provide maximum compatibility with existing and new media to ensure that the entire process from shooting to processing and storage is effortless. Our video cameras are designed to offer maximum convenience in storing and sharing videos,' Naka concluded.
