Marriott Hotels in Jordan celebrate Hotel Environment Awareness Month

Marriott Hotels in Jordan celebrated the month of April as the "Hotel Environment Awareness Month".
The activities commenced with educational films about Jordan's historical and natural treasures to all the staff. Another activity that took place during for the month of April, was a presentation entitled "An environment friendly hotel".
The presentation was prepared by one of the members of the Environment Community Club (ECC) Farraj Bashiti, from the Engineering department and it was attended by representatives of departments and members of the ECC.
In addition, discussions took place tackling best environment practices on the job. Ideas on how to conserve energy and power were shared and very valid recommendations were submitted to the management.
Another activity was completed by the Housekeeping, Laundry and Health Club departments also carried out "Clean up campaigns" for the area surrounding the hotels, the parking and the back area. This campaign was targeted towards increasing the awareness to the employees and to encourage keeping the hotel clean, and to educate them on keeping our environment free of litter and pollution.
Jan Heesbeen, the Country Director of Sales & Marketing said, "Our goal is to provide awareness on environmental issues related to work and to Jordan to all our employees."
He added, "Our aim is to have the most environmentally friendly hotels with employees that are environmentally conscious. Marriott is committed to the responsibility of protecting the environment for our employees, our guests and communities."
Marriott International manages three properties in Jordan, the Amman Marriott Hotel, the Petra Marriott Hotel and the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa.
