Planned maintenance by International Service Provider to affect UAE Internet performance for 4 hours on April 29, 2006

This outage is expected to last only for four hours between 07:00 am and 11:00 am on Saturday, 29th April, 2006.

eCompany, Etisalat's Business Unit that provides Internet services and ICT solutions today announced that UAE Internet users could experience a deterioration in their Internet performance due to a planned maintenance outage of 10 international links by its international service provider. This outage is expected to last only for four hours between 07:00 am and 11:00 am on Saturday, 29th April, 2006 following which Internet performance will be restored to normalcy in the UAE.

"Keeping our valued customers updated about this situation is a priority for Etisalat",

said Abdulla Hashim, Assistant General Manager, eCompany. "Etisalat will do its best to prioritize Internet traffic to ensure that normal Internet browsing and essential traffic will continue to work smoothly with the help of its redundant bandwidth capacity. We look forward to our customer's patience and understanding during this period and thank them for the same."
