DCCI appoints Eng. Hamad Buamim as Deputy Director General

Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) yesterday decided to appoint Engineer Hamad Mubarak Buamim as Deputy Director General of DCCI.

The decision of appointing Buamim was made in the line of the DCCI's strategy aimed at providing the chance for UAE national manpower to take up high administrative positions.

Engineer Buamim is currently working as Secretary General of the Dubai Council for Economic Affairs. Earlier, he worked as Senior Commercial Manager at HSBC Bank from 2002 to 2004. He also served as a lecturer at the College of Business and Economic of the UAE University from 1999 to 2002. Before that, Buamim took up the job of Senior System Engineer at the Planning and Development Department of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) from 1996 to 1999.

Buamim is a holder of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree graduated with honor in 2002 in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA. He is also a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, graduated from the University of Southern California in the USA in 1996.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Emirates Bank International and a member of the Business Advisory Council for Dubai University College.

Buamim received a number of distinguished awards such as the Sheikh Rashid Scientific Excellence Award in 2002, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA, in 2002, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE in 1997, and Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the University of Southern California in the USA in 1996.

The newly-appointed deputy director general of the DCCI was such an outstanding student during his university study as he preserved his own space on the lists of honor which universities issue to celebrate the success of its excelled students. He was also a member of the Engineering Honor Society in the University of Southern California.

Buamim enjoys a wide experience and remarkable skills in communications, negotiations and lectures delivery mainly those related to economic issues. He is also capable of managing large groups of work, running projects, as well as his capability of analyzing and estimating financial reports and conducting specialized economic and financial researches and studies.
