Omantel, $56m Q1 profit

Omantel's net profit for Q1 rose by 9.6% to $56m, compared to the same period last year, while total revenue increased by 22.6% to $203m, reported the Oman Daily Observer. Meanwhile, the company has said it is negotiating with the Ministry of National Economy and the Central Bank of Oman for enabling an e-government network, which will be used by government departments, banks and other financial institutions.
