The appointment, timed with Emirates SkyCargo's participation in Intermodal South America, South America's largest trade show focused on the markets of foreign trade, logistics and transport, will maximize the carrier's ability to service the region.

Prakash Nair, Emirates Manager Network Cargo Sales Development said:
"Participation in Intermodal South America has been an important step in developing relationships with key players, potential customers and in raising awareness of our service offerings. We have chosen to work with Scand as they are backed by a solid track-record and have an excellent reputation in the local market."

By appointing a CSA, Emirates SkyCargo hopes to better serve its customers in South America and increase trade access to key markets including Japan, India, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australasia, South Africa and the Middle East.

Marcos Oliveira, President of Scand Air Cargo, said: "We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Emirates SkyCargo and we are proud to be working with such a well-respected industry leader. We pride ourselves on being known locally as a top CSA. We look forward to providing a high standard of service to our new partner."

With over 40,000 visitors, Intermodal South America generated exceptional exposure for Emirates SkyCargo in Brazil and neighboring markets. "Big and small freight forwarders and direct shippers all demonstrated immense interest. The response to expanded plans with Sao Paulo has been very enthusiastic," said Prakash Nair.

Brazil's key export partners include the US, Argentina, UK, China, Germany and Mexico. Air freight commodities exported from Brazil include auto parts, A/C parts, leather, and fruit. Air freight imports to Brazil include machinery, and electronic components. The major import partners for Brazil are the US, Argentina, Germany, China and Japan.
