Metro, no help for shops

Shop owners whose premises will be near the construction work of the new Dubai Metro will not receive any compensation, a senior official told the Gulf News. Engineer Abdul Majeed Khaja, the Director of the Dubai Metro at the Roads and Transport Authority, stated that disruption to business would be minimal and retailers close to the work will benefit from extra business once the Metro opens in 2009.
