Some of the most eminent industry professionals, medical experts and scientists contributed their views on specific issues such as 'Improving the Protein System of Infant Formulas' and ' Dietary Nucleotide Effects Upon Immune Function'
Conducted at the Grand Hyatt in Cairo, the main objective of the conference was to arrive at a common consensus on the crucial role of nutrition in the early stages of infancy leading to a healthy development, including raising awareness of the links between proper infant nutrition and healthy emotional, mental and physical development.
'Statistics on child mortality and illness in the Middle East tell an unsettling story of poor nutrition health among a significant number of infants and young children. The region certainly deserves better outcomes towards early infant development', said Dr. Hussein Kamel Bahaa El-Din, former Minister of Education and Honorary President of Egyptian Society for Maternal and Neonatal Health.
'At Wyeth a healthy world is always our top priority. That's why we believe in bringing together the best of medical experts, scientists and opinion leaders from all across the globe, to address global concerns and derive value added benefits from them, towards building a healthier nation. This conference was a platform for promoting good nutrition in the early infancy stages and continues our more than five decades helping ensure a nutritious start to life for children across the region.' said, Baher Massoud, Medical Director, Wyeth Nutrition
The conference witnessed the presence of 120 medical experts, nutritionists from across the Middle East, who actively contributed their feedback as part of an interactive session along with the present experts.
