Held at Dana Club poolside lounge, the event was attended by the who's-who of the hospitality industry, VIP guests, senior officials of Oryx Publishing & Advertising Co and Standard Chartered Bank, Qatar. Held on Thursday the 30th of March, The awards ceremony was a glitzy affair and the nominee were announced in a unique Movie-based format.
Mr. Sandeep Sehgal, General Manager, Ms. Alpana Roy, Head-Publishing & Marketing, Mr. Ravi Raman, Business Manager Oryx Publishing and Mr. N Ramdas, Head Consumer Banking Standard Chartered Bank presented the plaques to the winners.
Executive Chef Eric Hippolyte of the Doha Marriott received the plaque for Asia Live!
These awards were a result of over 5 months of enthusiastic voting by the readers of the magazine, diners and food connoisseurs.
This is the second edition of the Qatar Today Restaurant Awards, which have come to be acknowledged as the ultimate recognition for any restaurant.
Established in 2004 these awards were aimed to recognize and award the most popular restaurants in town. What makes them unique is that awards are given out based on consumer votes. It started last year with 9 categories which have been expanded to 12 this year.
