The role of BP Chief Representative in Abu Dhabi will be taken over by David Dalton, General Manager of BP's operations in the emirate.

Peacock comes to the region from Aberdeen, Scotland, where he was a Director for BP's North Sea business. His portfolio included operation of BP's oil and gas terminals and pipelines, midstream business development, BP's partner operated assets, and the Netherlands. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge built up over 25 years with BP. Other previous roles include Vice President for Exploration in the US Gulf of Mexico and Vice President for Upstream Digital Business (IT).

'This is a very exciting time for the oil and gas industry in the Middle East and the Indian Sub-continent and for BP in the region. Global demand for energy continues to grow, with a lot of activity and opportunity across the region to expand capacity - not only in oil but also increasingly in gas,' Peacock explained. 'As a progressive company, BP is committed to helping deliver the various national agendas and plans in exciting ways' he added. 'Personally I am looking forward immensely to being involved with a region and people famous for a rich history, culture and hospitality.'

Dr. Daly has been appointed BP's Vice President for Exploration and Long Term Renewal and will be based at BP's head office in London's St. James Square. Dr. Daly leaves the region after six years, during which time he consolidated BP's Middle East and Pakistan business and laid the platform for future growth.

'I have greatly enjoyed getting to know the Middle East, Pakistan and the Indian Sub-Continent. It has been a time of great learning and an opportunity to meet and get to know many of the region's leaders. London may have significantly less colour about it.' Dr. Daly said, adding 'However, my new role is global in scope, and therefore will see me back here on a regular basis.'

David Dalton takes over the role of BP Chief Representative in Abu Dhabi, bringing with him a thorough understanding of Abu Dhabi's needs and requirements built over past three years in his role as general manager of BP's operations in the emirate. He has extensive experience in the Middle East, having previously worked with BP in Algeria, Egypt, Yemen and, during the 1980s, in Iraq.

Peacock will be based in Abu Dhabi, where BP's regional exploration and production operations are headquartered. He is joined by his wife, Barbara, and their four year-old daughter Maddie.
