Mohamed Al Amadi, Director, Dubai Autism Center, said, "DAC's primary objective is to make autistic children as independent as possible, by teaching them various day-to-day tasks, and gradually strengthening their skills depending on their abilities. The Dubai Autism Center is a non-profit organization, launched in November 2001 by a decree law by late H.H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, turning a dream of parents with Autistic children in UAE into a reality. It started as a Resource Center for parents and professionals, providing essential resources such as books and videos beside specialists on Autism. Today DAC houses its own center located at Jumeirah, with fully equipped classrooms along with a kitchen and a combined living room/ bedroom used for teaching daily life skills, a playground and a gym. The Dubai Autism Center has its own team of professionals - Clinical Psychologist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist, who work together in assessing the child as well as providing the best program for each individual.
