Tanmia's Emiratisation efforts received a further boost, with a host of business leaders and prospective employers present at Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition, expressing their willingness to provide suitable employment opportunities to UAE Nationals.
During the event, Tanmia organized a series of seminars and workshops designed to facilitate increased employee-employer networking, turning the spotlight on topical issues and focusing on hurdles facing UAE Nationals in the employment market. With an objective directed towards raising student awareness on the job market, Tanmia successfully provided the students, accurate and factual information related to the prevailing business environment and the opportunities available in the country. Highlighting the experiences of National graduates working in the UAE, Tanmia also provided students information on possible study paths necessary to acquire suitable qualifications.
Noora Al Bedour, Acting Director General, Tanmia said,
"Recruitment, training and education exhibitions such as Careers UAE Exhibition have gained immense importance in the recent years. This year's exhibition helped Tanmia provide a resourceful forum that successfully connected employers who presented suitable career opportunities to capable and talented National candidates. Strong positive responses from employers and high-profile business leaders provided job seekers, registered with Tanmia, an invaluable opportunity to apply for various jobs in the public and private sector. We would like to thank all participating employers for their interest in our candidates, and for their support and cooperation throughout the event. We are very grateful to H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who showed immense interest in our activities, and this has further boosted our drive to support the UAE government in the Emiratisation process."
Careers UAE Exhibition attracted significant interest from 125 government and private sector companies this year. Visitors to the Tanmia stand dropped their CVs and updated themselves on the job scenario, current salary levels, and other information necessary to comprehend the UAE job market. Another positive outcome from Tanmia's participation was that they received encouraging responses from several private sector companies looking to increase the percentage of Nationals in their workforce.
"Tanmia provides a platform that connects the knowledge and capability of the National workforce to like-minded employers who recognize their potential. We are proud of the fact that our efforts in providing a favorable environment to students, job seekers and employers alike, paid off very well this year. Careers UAE 2006 Exhibition was a well-attended event that produced numerous qualified applicants, and we look forward to our participation in the next edition of the event in 2007," added Al Bedour.
Tanmia, together with UAEU, HCT and ZU participated in the event as part of their effort to provide a constructive environment for interaction between employers and job seekers, and to address specific issues such as employment opportunities, career trends and job market realities in the UAE.
