To meet this demand, The World Gold Council, in partnership with the Vicenza Fair and Anglo Gold Ashanti, is launching the 'Gold Expressions 2006 Collection', on May 10, 2006 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

A design-focused product development programme, Gold Expressions is about creating and launching new gold jewellery designs and trends to expand global consumer demand for gold jewellery. This annual event was launched in Italy first in January, and then started the World Tour.

The press conference and inauguration will take place at Park Hyatt on May 10. The press conference will be followed by 'Buyer meets Seller' meetings on May 10th and 11th, at the same hotel. This event allows the press, jewellery buyers (wholesale & retail), and jewellery traders to meet the jewellery designers/representatives from Italy and see the jewellery showcase.

'It has been a continuous endeavour on our part to encourage the creation of exquisite and unique designs in gold jewellery. The collection we showcase in Gold Expressions is original, yet marketable. An event like this helps generate interest among the international press and buyers, fulfilling the purpose of encouraging designers to exceed the expectations of the consumer,' said Mr. Moaz Barakat, Managing Director of the World Gold Council.

A gala dinner on the night of May 10th will give participants and visitors the opportunity to interact one-on-one with each other. The evening will also feature a fashion show, displaying the best designs of gold jewellery.

Each piece on the ramp will be beautiful and elegant, reflecting the refined tastes of the consumer. They have been created based on the research on the core gold-buying consumers in each of the main gold markets and their motivation for purchasing gold jewellery.
