Air Arabia lands in Kochi amidst fanfare and celebrations

After a year of successful operations to India, Air Arabia LLC, the first and only low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa and the 1st International low-fares airline to fly to India, made its inaugural flight to Kochi on 1st May amidst fanfare and celebrations.

Air Arabia's CEO, Adel Ali led a delegation of senior officials from UAE, media and guests on the 1st flight and was warmly received in Kochi by Mr. Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Mr V.J. Kurian, Managing Director, Cochin International Airport Ltd, other officials and press.

Speaking at the occasion, Adel Ali said,

'It is a historic moment for Air Arabia to fly to Kochi, our third Indian destination today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Indian Government and Civil Aviation Authorities for their support and cooperation. We look forward to developing trade and tourism between the UAE and India.'



Air Arabia has commenced operations to Kochi with four flights a week from 1st May and then daily from 12th May 06. Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday flights depart Sharjah at 22:20 to arrive in Kochi at 03:45 and then depart Kochi at 04:30 to arrive in Sharjah at 07:10. From 12th May flights depart Sharjah at 13:00 to arrive in Kochi at 18:25, then depart Kochi at 19:10 and arrive back in Sharjah at 21:50.

With the addition of our next destination in India Jaipur, Air Arabia will connect the Middle East to 4 key destinations in the North, South and West of India with a total of 26 flights a week and more to come.

Current Air Arabia destinations include Aleppo and Damascus (Syria); Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt); Aqaba and Amman (Jordan); Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan); Bahrain; Beirut (Lebanon); Colombo (Sri Lanka); Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh (KSA), Doha (Qatar); Khartoum (Sudan); Kuwait; Mumbai and Nagpur (India); Muscat (Oman); Sana'a (Yemen); Sharjah (UAE) and Tehran (Iran). Later this month, we will commence flights to another destination in India, Jaipur, Kabul and our first destination in Europe, Istanbul.
