The projects include Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project at Interchange 4.5 from Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project at Interchange 4 3/4 from Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project from Al Sufouh, the leveling of internal roads in Nad Al Shiba and road works in Al Warga which includes converting the Nuwakshoot road from single lane to double lane. All of these projects have been completed on schedule at a total cost of AED 683 million.
The AED 56 million contract for the leveling of internal road works in Nad Al Shiba commenced on 9th October 2004 and was completed on 1st January, 2006.
The contract for the Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project at Interchange 4.5 from Sheikh Zayed Road connecting Al Sufouh was worth AED 242 million and it commenced on 7th June, 2004 and was completed on 27th January, 2006, as per schedule.
The contract for the Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project at Interchange 4 3/4 from Sheikh Zayed Road was valued at AED 190 million. The construction of this project started on 24th July, 2004 and completed on 23rd February 2006.
The AED 178 million contract for the Jumeirah Palm Island Road Corridor and Access Project from Al Sufouh to the Palm commenced on 8th July, 2004 and was completed as per schedule on 7th March 2006.
Internal roads were leveled in Al Warqa 5, and Nuwakshoot road was converted from single lane to double lane on either side. The AED 16 million contract began on 13th August 2005 and was completed on 9th April 2006.
Engineer Maitha Bin Adi, Director of Roads Department, RTA said, 'The projects have been completed as planned. We are committed to maximizing our efforts to improve the current scenario of roads and reduce the congestions. With constant research and development, the RTA strives to achieve its mission of developing high quality roads that ensure maximum safety.'
