Bensaid's appointment comes at a time when Toshiba's Middle East notebook shipments ranked first in IDC's 2005 Q4 market indicators.
"Taking up this newly created position for Toshiba is an exciting challenge and I look forward to helping Toshiba dominate notebook sales in 2006 and beyond," said Bensaid. "Toshiba will now be able to communicate and operate even more efficiently to meet the requirements of our diverse customers across the GCC."
Bensaid holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from the American University of Sharjah. Prior to his current assignment, Mohamed Bensaid was HP's retail account manager in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Yemen where he developed retail business, negotiated partner deals in different territories and formed a dedicated sales and merchandising team.
