Lamcy Plaza recognised as the `Best Service Performance Mall' by Dubai Service Excellence Scheme

In a firm endorsement of its retail strategy that focuses on creating exceptional value for customers, Lamcy Plaza, the city's popular shopping destination, today announced that it has been named as one among the three `Best Service Performance Malls' by the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES), an initiative of Dubai's Department of Economic Development.

Lamcy Plaza has scored high on the basis of several criteria that identify excellence in customer service during the first quarter of the current year (Jan-March 2006). These scores are based on the DSES `mystery shopping' reports that review the scale and quality of customer service. Mystery shopping techniques and reporting structures have been designed to assess service from the customer's viewpoint. The scores also take into consideration the number of brands/outlets encouraged by the mall to join as DSES members.

The DSES aims to promote businesses that strive for an ever-increasing quality standard in customer service. To qualify for DSES, applicants (brands and outlets) are rated on the basis of multiple service-oriented parameters. For instance, applicants must score above 75 per cent on the mystery shopper's visit to qualify as a member of the scheme.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Tim Jones, General Manager, Lamcy Plaza, said:

Lamcy Plaza's customer-centric approach and commitment to service has led to several initiatives in the recent past including its early opening at 9 am, value offers and the more recent Friday Brunch at its Food Court.

Elaborating on DSES and Lamcy Plaza's participation in it, Dr. Lway Nackasha, Advisor-Quality and Business Excellence to Dubai's Department of Economic Development, said: "The Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES) is a one-of-a-kind initiative that aims to raise the standard of customer service in Dubai. It encourages, recognises and rewards businesses that support Dubai's drive for quality. The ceremony held this week was the first in the series to recognise excellence in customer service. We are extremely pleased with the way Lamcy Plaza has supported the scheme - both by participating in the deliberations on service excellence as well as encouraging brands to become members. DSES has rated Lamcy Plaza as one of the highest performing members in the scheme."

The DSES is designed to gain customer confidence and to make the experience of buying in Dubai a pleasurable one. The scheme binds all participating businesses to a common code of business ethics and core criteria for customer service excellence.
