The Elsa Peretti collections are coming to Dubai for the first time. One of the world's foremost designers, Elsa Peretti is acclaimed for her sculptural interpretations of forms found in nature, including bones, beans, hearts, snakes, teardrops, and starfish. Her design ingenuity brings an elegant new attitude to jewellery and accessories for men and women, and her designs for the home define contemporary life with striking simplicity.

"Our association with Tiffany & Co. is just another step towards our commitment to offer our customers the best and most exclusive designs and jewellery. At Damas, we believe that our select clientele makes informed choices, and we ensure that their preferences are met with in the best possible manner,"

said Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas.

Mr. Frank Arcaro, Vice President of Elsa Peretti Collections, stated "The exclusivity and quality that is a trademark of Tiffany & Co. is best reflected in the Damas brands. We could not have hoped for a better partner in the UAE. We are confident that the Elsa Peretti collections will find acceptance with the consumers here."

Tiffany & Co. will offer an array of this consummate designer's jewellery creations in platinum, eighteen-karat gold and sterling silver. Among her signature designs are Diamonds by the Yard, a revolutionary fashion statement that gives diamonds inventive options for day as well as evening; and the Open Heart collection, a modern classic that personifies not only emotion sincerely expressed, but also fashion of a fresh and feminine spirit.

Other designs include the Elsa PerettiŽ Mesh collection, based on fine mesh jewellery and purses in vogue from 1900 through the 1920s; sleek Bone cuffs that elegantly conform to the wrist; the Wave collection, a seamless expression of style and allure; and the open-shape Sevillana inspired by the gypsy style of Seville. For men, cuff links in organic BeanŽ and starfish shapes finish business or casual looks with impeccable taste.

With her unique stylization of natural forms, Elsa Peretti creates an unmistakable presence in the home with her Teardrop, Thumbprint, Padova™ and Bean collections gracefully contoured in sterling silver bowls, candlesticks, carafe, tureen and service plates; frames and boxes; baby gifts; and a range of functional accessories from bottle opener and bread knife to writing instruments, bookmark, money clip, letter opener and key ring.

Throughout her career, Elsa Peretti has received numerous awards, including the 1971 Coty Award for Jewellery and the 1994 Divine Design Award for Jewellery. In 1996, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named her the Accessory Designer of the Year, one of the fashion industry's most prestigious awards.

Elsa Peretti's designs are rendered in a variety of materials, but she is best known for her works in sterling silver, which elevated the precious metal to new heights of popularity in jewellery. From exquisite mesh necklaces and earrings, to Padova™ sterling silver flatware and her revolutionary Diamonds by the Yard, Elsa Peretti's seamless creations are a testament to her ingenuity and design expertise. She has said her designs are dictated by common sense. "For me, nothing is new. Good line and good form are timeless."

The Elsa Peretti collections are now available in all Tiffany & Co. stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

About Elsa Peretti
Born in Italy and educated in Rome and Switzerland, Elsa Peretti initially made her living teaching French and skiing, eventually returning to Rome to pursue a degree in interior design. By 1969, she had established herself as a fashion model in New York and Barcelona, and was also beginning to design her own jewellery.

American fashion designer Giorgio di Sant'Angelo used a few of her pieces in a fashion show, which were an instant success. It was also during this time that she met the legendary designer Halston, who became her longtime friend and frequent collaborator.

In the early 1980s, her collections for Tiffany were expanded to include china, crystal and silver designs for the home. Like her jewellery, these new designs were praised for their fluid shape and serene, undulating surfaces.

In 1999, Elsa Peretti celebrated her 25th anniversary with Tiffany & Co. In recognition of her remarkable career, Tiffany made a contribution to the Fashion Institute of Technology to establish the Elsa Peretti Professorship in Jewellery Design, the first endowed professorship in the history of FIT. In 2001, the designer was presented with an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from FIT. In further tribute, the Elsa Peretti jewellery case in Tiffany's Fifth Avenue flagship store was designated a Tiffany landmark.

Among the many other awards Elsa Peretti has received are the Coty Award for Jewelry in 1971, followed by the Rhode Island School of Design President's Fellow Award in 1981, and the 1994 Divine Design Award for Jewelry. In 1996, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named her the Accessory Designer of the Year.

Elsa Peretti's designs are available at Tiffany & Co. stores worldwide and are also in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
