Mena Telecom launches new low-cost telephone service

Bahrain-based Mena Telecom, an investment subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), has launched its Carrier Pre-Select Service (CPS) to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Offering significant reductions on international fixed line direct dialing (IDD) rates without interruptions to quality, connectivity or service, Mena Telecom's CPS is set to change the landscape of the island's rapidly growing telecommunications industry.

Following the launch of the company's popular, pre-paid calling cards, MENATalk, the CPS is the second, innovative new service that Mena Telecom has introduced to the market.

"The launch of our Carrier Pre-Select Service for fixed lines comes at an exciting time with the country's telecommunications industry at the threshold of change and rapid expansion. We entered the market with the aim to compete not only on price but also on quality, availability and service. The introduction of our CPS underscores our commitment to our customer- base in Bahrain. This market has tremendous potential and we want to be at the forefront of innovation and development in the industry,"

said Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, Chairman, Mena Telecom.

Using Mena Telecom's integrated network, customers using the CPS can reap the benefits of lower international rates without compromising on sound-quality or connectivity. The highlight of Mena Telecom's CPS is its simplicity and efficiency; installing the service requires no additional equipment or cost and signing up for the service can be done on Mena Telecom's GOSI Complex retail. In addition, Mena Telecom's CPS allows customers to retain their original landline telephone number. Customers wishing to sign up for Mena Telecom's CPS do not need to change their original landline telephone number and can enjoy lower rates.

"We are delighted to be able to launch our CPS to the Kingdom of Bahrain. This new initiative uses advanced technology to offer customers significant reductions to their long distance phone bills. We have strived to make this service as user-friendly and efficient as possible; Customers can pay their bills at Mena Telecom GOSI Complex or at any Kuwait Finance House branches," added Abdul Razak Jawahery, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mena Telecom.
