Siemens Communications and MTC to define growth strategies and introduce latest technologies to the Middle East and Africa

Siemens Communications, one of the world's largest communications providers, joined with long-term partner and regional telecom giant Mobile Telecommunications Co (MTC), the fastest growing mobile operator in the region, to explore the latest mobile network technologies, implementation strategies and their impact on the Middle East's telecom sector with a two-day 'Leading the Next Gs' conference at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, on May 2nd 2006.
"We are witnessing an incredible rate of development and ever-increasing sophistication across the region's telecommunications markets," said Soenke Peters, VP Siemens Communications Mobile Networks Middle East. "In this dynamic environment, strong partnerships between solutions providers and operators are vital in ensuring the latest technologies and services are available to consumers."
"MTC and Siemens Communications have built an excellent working relationship over the past 13 years, and this partnership has brought a number of firsts to the region's telecom sector, not least the Middle East's first ever Universal Mobile Telecommunications Standard call in Bahrain early 2004."
Established in 1983 in Kuwait, MTC has grown to serve over 15 million people across the Middle East and Africa.
