'The IBIS Project gives UAE University the opportunity to establish the foundation for a unified environment. The project also provides the opportunity to offer a world-class infrastructure where administrative services, learning tools and collaboration facilities are seamlessly available to students, faculty and staff,'
said Dr. Mugheer Al-Khaili, UAEU's Secretary General.
'The Unified Digital Campus will bring people and process together and help establish operational excellence in support of the University's mission to serve as the UAE's flagship university and to continue to build the reputation of higher education in the Middle East region.'
By the end of 2006, the campus portal will help enable the finance and HR teams to work within a stimulating service setting and automate the routine flow of work around UAEU. It will also unify online service delivery to constituents and allow potential employees to interact with the new online university recruiting process. From a management perspective, the system will help deliver high quality management information and achieve reporting flexibility which will help UAEU to manage capital, support operational maintenance programs, and control costs.
'Our approach helps the finance and HR departments to improve internal service level obligations with their university-wide constituents. Other important value for the university is to deliver on certain university-wide goals, such as a consistent point of entry for all online university services and a coherent approach to information needs across the university. These deliverables support the progressive milestones for the finance and HR functions and will help the university benefit from increased constituent services, better decision and reporting capabilities, and the ability to deliver a high-quality educational experience,' said Mathew Boice, general manager, Middle East, SunGard Higher Education.
'UAEU's mission is to position the university at the forefront of higher education comparable to other internationally renowned universities. SunGard Higher Education is pleased to share the experience from serving more than 1,600 institutions of higher education and assist UAEU in achieving its mission,' Mr. Boice added.
